Meet Our People | Parvez Ahmed
Every month, we will be featuring one of our employees to give you a better look at the people powering D4. This month, we are focusing on Parvez Ahmed, Discovery Engineer.
1. How did you get into eDiscovery?
Ahmed: Prior to going to law school I worked in technology for over 6 years. When I graduated law school in 2008, eDiscovery was just in its infancy stage and provided me an opportunity to marry my technology and legal backgrounds.
2. What is your favorite part about your job at Special Counsel/D4?
Ahmed: I work with some of the most talented and hard-working individuals I have come across in the industry. When everyone around you brings their “A-game” in what they do whether it’s client response time, constantly enhancing their skill sets, and immersing themselves into the details of a matter, you can’t help but be inspired by that and it serves as a motivation to up your game as well.
3. What is one workflow/tip that you think every client should know about?
Ahmed: For law firms it is critical to think through their eDiscovery strategy in the early stages of a litigation by properly understanding requests for data productions, push back if the requests made are overly broad or burdensome, and then assessing the impact that has on their end client. For corporations, litigation preparedness is critical especially as it relates to data governance and retention policies, creating efficient workflows around litigation holds and collections.
4. What’s one thing you can’t live without?
Ahmed: I strive to be a minimalist so my vinyl record collection and personal library would suffice me!
