X1 Discovery’s Insight & Collection Shows Promise to Close the Gaps in the EDRM
This week I participated in a webinar and live demo of X1 Discovery’s Insight & Collection and its integration with Relativity One. What we saw from that demonstration was truly impressive.
Closing Gap Between Left and Right Side of EDRM
In a matter of a few minutes X1 collected, processed, uploaded and published data from 5 custodians into a Relativity One (Relativity’s cloud offering) workspace.
This functionality, built into a collection tool, has a chance to revolutionize the current eDiscovery process by collapsing the many hand-offs built into the current EDRM into a few short steps managed by one or two people.
X1 Search Capability
In addition to collection, X1 has built in search capability allowing legal teams to vet and iterate search terms prior to collection and processing. With exception handling, and logging of non-indexed documents, X1 gives users the ability to push forward search results and non-searched records ensuring that potentially relevant files aren’t left behind.
"Data can be collected and processed without ever leaving the application until the finished deliverable is loaded to Relativity One."
This brings the concept of early case assessment to its rightful spot in the EDRM. When coupled with Relativity’s data analysis and analytics tools, X1 gives investigators a whole new workflow for analyzing risk and evaluating merits of potential litigation before committing resources and dollars to collection, processing, review and hosting.
Searching Across Unstructured Data Sources
X1 Discovery Insight & Collection offers the ability to search across unstructured data sources within an organization by connecting directly to those sources and indexing in place. Once data is identified and searched, several dashboards provide insight into term efficacy and hit counts. From there the data can be collected and processed without ever leaving the application until the finished deliverable is loaded to Relativity One.
While all this is impressive on its own, what truly stands out is the speed at which this is all performed. While planning the webinar, Barry O’Melia, Sr. Product Manager at Relativity, pressed for a live demo because, “it is unbelievable without seeing it with your own eyes.” We agree.
